Ida Landsberg is a popular Italian Jazz artist. She has a decent discography under her belt. She was featured in two songs in Episodes 02 and 03. We had the honor of asking her for an interview, this is what she had to say:

1)In regards to the songwriting, did you write the lyrics yourself? Or contributed to them in any way?

I wrote the lyrics and “melody” of both songs “Song for her“ and “Feldweg“. Dimitri made the whole music and assembled the notes and melody lines. He also invented also the titles of the songs.

2)Are there any notable experiences worth sharing when recording for the song?

The collaboration was quite unusual, because it wasn’t a simultaneous work but different pieces put together consequently. We never met for composing. He worked from Lyon and I from Tuscany. He used to send to me some patterns as ideas, I recorded some random voice lines with lyrics and sent them back to him. Based on those voices he changed the music, cut the simple voice lines and made a big mosaic between voice and sound.

3)When did recording for the song start? And how were you approached to do the song's vocals?

I don’t remember exactly. Usually we recorded the music at the same time that the next episode of the game was written.

4)What were the main inspirations when producing the song? Like its namesake and musical style, knowing that most of your discography features Jazz music.

The inspiration for me was was similar to you actually. My enthusiasm for Dimitri’s music. I loved the game 1112 as a simple app user and fell especially in love with the main track in Episode 01 that was from Dimitri. As a singer I had the strong wish to collaborate with him and to create music together and so I contacted him. He answered and we started to collaborate.

It had actually nothing to do with my usual genres like jazz or bossa nova, so my main inspiration was the sound of Dimitri’s music itself that I wished to complete with my voice. Sometimes you are hit by music without really knowing why. I found his tunes very touching, modern and unusual, creative, minimalistic but rich at the same time, so I felt I wanted to be a part of it.

5)For Feldweg, the song noticeably contained French Lyrics(ones that I have yet to be able to transcribe), would you kindly tell us what those Lyrics are? And maybe the official lyrics for the entire song? I myself am already working on transcribing the lyrics to put them up on our notion page(the page that I have linked you to in my previous E-Mail). I want to limit my questions to Song For Her of course, but I have to admit that I loved Feldweg so much that I wish to know if you may answer the first four questions for them once again.

I will see if I can find them again and send them to you later.

6)Were you asked to do a track for Episode 04 once again?

I don’t remember very well, but I don’t think so. The creator of the game had chosen a music group based in France, I think.

7)About the composer, Dimitri Pachkov, we cannot seem to find any other music he has composed apart from 1112. Is he now using a new stage name for his music? My partner and I really loved his particular style of composing.

It’s a long time we have not been in contact, so the best would be to contact him and ask him. I agree he is a very skilled sound designer and composer.
